The Race

Staring forward into the endless sky
The strong beating of my heart is all I hear
In order to complete this crazy race called life
To give it our all is the only option we have
What goal is it that we have in mind, friend?
The next page of my book has yet to be written down
In anticipation, we set our gazes straight ahead

Ready, steady, GO!
The sunlight only lasts a little while
Take my hand and that first stride
I’ll help you, and you’ll help me, right?
Set the pace, and we’ll create memories within our steps
And if you get ahead, we’ll meet at the finish line

Let’s go!
Take a deep breath
Everything will be all right (I promise)
Ignite this flame inside our hearts
Hopefully, we’ll ignite it in others as we go
